Whole Foods Scheduled to Open November 8th
"The Pan Pacific Hotel and Whole Foods Market, anchors for 2200 Westlake; the gateway to South Lake Union featuring 261 residences, restaurants, retail shops and health club. Whole Foods Market will be filling a major void for downtown living as we now know it. This store is 47,000 sq ft and is known as the world's largest natural and organic foods supermarket and America's first national certified organic grocer. The store will also feature a Pet Bakery, which I am anxious to see and of course a Starbucks because it wouldn't be Seattle without one on every corner. The only other existing Whole Foods stores in King County is at Seattle's Roosevelt Square and their 2nd flagship store in Bellevue. The store location is key for the residential development of South Lake Union and will pose as a huge deterent in the popularity of Vulcan's condominium projects like: 2200, Rollin Street Flats, Enso and Veer. Being located at Denny and Westlake allows these residents to be within a few blocks of Whole Foods and not to mention the soon to be Street Car line.
